The cord is long enough to reach an outlet near the end table, easy and simple operation (tap on, tap to lower temp up to two times then final tap off). Auto shut off after 4 hours which I have not used yet as I always unplug my unit after each use, however it is nice to know that is an option. Just one suggestion, Using a mug lid with unit also helps keep the hot beverage at a consistant temp. I LOVE IT and wish I ordered one sooner.
